Over the next few weeks, “Little Timbre” blossomed under the care of the rescue team. Connor and Liz learned that this brave little beaver was not just surviving but thriving, honing her beaver skills in preparation for her eventual return to the wild—a heartfelt reunion planned for 18 months later, right where she was found.

“This is such a ‘Canadiana’ experience!” Liz exclaimed with pride. “It’s no surprise that Connor was the one to have this adventure. He has this incredible empathy for animals.”

The marvel of rescuing a baby animal in Canada isn’t unique to Connor. Earlier that summer in Alberta, two women had a similarly heroic experience when they came to the aid of a stranded foal in the Kananaskis River.
