In a magical showcase of art and light, Twycross Zoo has unveiled an enchanting holiday experience that is becoming a delightful attraction for families. This year, over 2,000 dazzling lanterns illuminate the night, creating a stunning visual journey through diverse habitats and imaginative landscapes.
All Aglow at Twycross Zoo
Since opening on November 14, Twycross Zoo in Warwickshire has been transformed into a winter wonderland known as “Lanterns Of The Wild.” Visitors have been flocking to this celebration of light, where the glow of creatively crafted lanterns stretches over a mile-long trail.
The moment you step onto the path, you’re swept away by a vibrant display of hand-painted lanterns, each telling a unique story. These lanterns bring to life various animal characters, guiding families through stunning replicas of tropical rainforests, icy tundras, and deep ocean scenes. Imagine walking alongside a gentle giant of the savanna, surrounded by intricate glowing flora and fauna.

A Journey of Wonder
This illuminated spectacle features not just the familiar faces of the animal kingdom but also remarkable tributes, such as a gigantic Mount Rushmore made of light, complete with bison and moose grazing gently in the foreground.

Craftsmanship and Creativity
This incredible journey took over 99,000 hours to bring to life, thanks to a talented team of more than 30 Chinese artists. Utilizing approximately 25,000 bulbs and 70,000 meters of strip lights, each lantern becomes a unique and mesmerizing piece of art.

As Jamie Turner, marketing director at Twycross Zoo, beautifully put it, “Every lantern is a work of art.” And art it is—each piece reflects the dedication and creativity that went into this enchanting display.

Memories to Cherish
One of the beloved highlights for children is the giant version of The Gruffalo, a character that brings joy and nostalgia to all. Families enjoy taking photos beside these whimsical displays, capturing moments that will be cherished for years to come.

For those planning a visit, you can find more information about tickets and details on the zoo’s website. Don’t miss out on this magical experience that brings together art, animals, and the spirit of the holidays!
